Linda Pearlman Karlsberg, a painter and draftsman, notes,
“My work is about light: about the conflicts of light and shadow,
desolation and beauty, and about the emotional responses light provokes.”
After spending her childhood in a small MA suburb, where she grew
to love the natural world, Linda studied visual art at Boston University’s
College for the Arts, with invaluable mentorship from artist-professors
Conger Metcalf, Arthur Polonsky, David Aronson, and Philip Guston.
At B.U., Linda earned both BFA and MFAs magna cum laude, served as
a teaching assistant while an undergraduate, and as a graduate teaching
fellow in painting as a graduate student. After earning her MFA, Linda
continued to teach drawing, design, and painting at B.U., The Art Institute,
and other Boston-area colleges.
She has shown her work extensively in solo and group exhibitions held in
museums and galleries across the country, and has received numerous awards
for her drawings and paintings. Her work hangs in public and private collections
throughout the U.S.
